Garuda Purana Niti Grantha: Death is the biggest truth of life, which no one can change. Whoever is born in this world, his death is also certain. But what happens to the soul after death, you get the answer to this in Garuda Purana, one of the 18 Mahapuranas. It is told that after death the journey of the soul to Yamalok begins and the soul goes on the path of heaven or hell based on karma. In Garuda Purana, Lord Vishnu tells all these things to his vehicle Pakshiraj Garuda, which has been described in the Garuda Purana Granth.

Which places does the soul pass through after death

According to Garuda Purana, after death, the soul has to pass through different places and after calculating its sins and virtues, it is sent on its next journey. Garuda Purana states that before death, the person loses his voice, all the senses of the body stop working and at the last moment, the person gets divine sight from God, after which the person gives up life. After death, two Yamdoots come and the soul is treated in the same way as it has treated others during its lifetime.

After death, the soul gets three paths

• Archi Marg: This is the path which is for Dev Lok and Brahma Lok. In Garuda Purana, it is described as the highest path. Only a person who does not do any bad deed in his life and always does virtuous deeds, attains this path.
• Dhum Marg: In this route, one has to travel to the world of ancestors.
• Utpatti Vinash Marg: This route is for the journey to hell. Garuda Purana describes it as the worst route. In this, the soul has to face the Vaitarni River. It is said that it takes 47 days for the soul to cross this river and in these 47 days, the soul has to face many kinds of troubles.
