Cervical spondylosis is also known as neck arthritis. In this disease, there is a complaint of pain in the neck joint. This joint is connected to cartilage, tissue and cervical spine.
Cervical spondylitis mostly occurs with increasing age but sometimes it can also be caused by pressure on the neck, wrong posture while sitting or standing, smoking, being overweight, genetic reasons and a lazy lifestyle.
1. Daily exercise- Not doing regular exercise is also a big reason for cervical spondylitis. Neck pain can be reduced by regular exercise.
(If the pain increases with any kind of exercise, then stop exercising)
2. Hot and cold fomentation- To get relief from neck pain, hot and cold fomentation of the neck also provides a lot of relief. Hot fomentation improves blood circulation while cold fomentation reduces swelling and stinging.
How to treat-
For a hot compress, wrap a hot water bottle in a towel and compress the neck.
For cold compress, wrap ice cubes in a towel and compress the neck with that towel.
While compressing, the neck should be compressed continuously for at least two to three minutes.
Repeat after 15 to 20 minutes. Do this method twice a day until you get relief.
3. Garlic- If symptoms of cervical spondylitis are seen, then the use of garlic can give very good results. Its medicinal properties cure neck pain, swelling and inflammation.
How to treat-
Eat two cloves of garlic every morning with water on an empty stomach.
Fry a few cloves of garlic in any cooking oil. Cool this oil till it becomes lukewarm and massage the affected area. This method can be done twice a day.
4. Turmeric- The medicinal properties of turmeric are not hidden from anyone, but the good thing is that it is equally effective in the pain of cervical spondylitis. Turmeric provides relief from neck pain by increasing blood circulation and also reduces neck stiffness.
How to treat-
Boil one spoon of turmeric in milk and when it cools down add honey to it, drink it twice a day.
5. Sesame seed- Sesame is the best Ayurvedic medicine for the treatment of cervical spondylitis. Calcium, magnesium, manganese, copper, zinc, phosphorus and vitamins K and D are found in abundance in it. That is why it is beneficial for the bones as well as the entire body.
How to treat-
Warm sesame oil and massage the affected area for about 10 minutes. Do this three to four times a day.
Massage can also be done by adding a few drops of lavender oil to warm sesame oil.
Lightly roast sesame seeds and chew them every morning. Apart from this, roasted sesame seeds can also be added to hot milk and drunk. Drink about two glasses of milk a day.
6. Ginger- Ginger also shows excellent effect in the treatment of cervical spondylitis. It accelerates blood circulation, which gives relief from neck pain.
