Royal fans have been left divided today after returned to Instagram yesterday for the first time since 2020.
The Duchess of Sussex, 43, with a never-before-seen video of her running across the sand.
In the short clip, the duchess - who married Prince Harry in 2018 and quit life as a senior royal alongside him in 2020 - ran across the beach before using her finger to write 2025 in the sand.
She then ran back towards the camera, grinning. It has been reported that the video was taken at a local beach close to the couple's Montecito mansion, with Prince Harry believed to be the one filming his wife's video.
However, since the launch of the account yesterday, royal fans have been left divided over the move and what this could mean, with some people excited for the duchess and others highly critical of the move.
On X, one supporter of Meghan wrote: "MEGHAN MARKLE IS BACK ON INSTAGRAM. Can't wait to see what she has to share."
Another said: "Happy New Year to Meghan Markle! So happy for her after everything she's been through! Can't wait to see her Instagram posts again!"
A third wrote: "She looks so carefree! I'm so happy for her and her little family!"
However, some people were less pleased that the duchess has returned to the social media platform using the royal title she was given after her 2018 wedding to Prince Harry. The couple have been able to keep this royal title despite leaving life as senior royals in 2020 to move across the pond.
One person wrote on X: "Wasn't she pushing that social media was awful and didn't she say she doesn't go on social media?"
Another said: "I don't understand how a woman can hold a title for a country that she won't even step foot in anymore, let alone live there."
Meghan has not posted on Instagram since her launch post yesterday, which had the comments switched off. The account was created in 2022, however only launched publicly yesterday.
