Mikel Arteta is if the right chance comes along — but has made it clear that his current focus is on the players he already has at his disposal.

The Gunners have been linked with a move for Wolves' Matheus Cunha amid speculation will look to bolster his attacking options this month, with Bukayo Saka set for an extended spell on the sidelines.

But following , which closed the gap on Liverpool at the top of the table, Arteta downplayed immediate transfer activity, hinting only at potential opportunistic deals.

Arsenal turned the game around with goals from Gabriel Jesus, Mikel Merino, and Gabriel Martinelli, showing depth despite the absence of Saka and the sick Kai Havertz.

Arteta remained non-committal about transfer prospects: "At the moment it is looking after the players and get the best out of them," he stated. "I really like my players and I believe in what we have as there's a lot of quality and commitment. "Let's see. If there's an opportunity we will look at it".

Arteta also praised Jesus and Martinelli for stepping up when needed: "Very good timing! Both of them are really important," he acknowledged.

"It is a big quality of our team, to share the goals. Today we have done it again, scoring in three very different ways. Great. That is what we need. The people up front have to be firing, with that feeling, and they are with that feeling right now."

He also lauded young Ethan Nwaneri for his performance on his first Premier League start, noting that his selection was a tactical choice rather than due to illness in the squad: "Well, in that position it wasn't because of the bug," Arteta clarified.

"It was a decision I made because I thought he was the best player to play in the position to start the game and because there was a story there with his debut here. He made his Premier League debut and sometimes that feeling comes in and you feel it is the right one and then who knows?"
