There is a huge ruckus in Team India before the Sydney Test. The dispute between team captain Rohit Sharma and head coach Gautam Gambhir is not stopping. Earlier news had come out that Rohit has ruled himself out of the last match against Australia and has informed this to Gambhir and Chief Selector Ajit Agarkar. Then it was claimed in the media reports that after watching his batting in the net session, the decision was taken to make him sit on the bench. Now a shocking thing has come to light. According to the report, the head coach of the Indian team was adamant on dropping Rohit and he even rejected the request of an influential and veteran BCCI official.

Gambhir did not listen to anyone

Rohit Sharma is going through very bad form. Under his captaincy, Team India is facing continuous defeats. Even in Australia, the team is in bad shape after his departure. But there was talk of playing him for the last time in the Sydney Test. PTI quoted sources in its report as saying that Gambhir did not agree to this either. He was adamant about keeping Rohit on the bench in the last test and left him out.

It has also been claimed in the report that Gautam Gambhir did not even listen to a senior and influential BCCI official. He himself talked to the head coach of Team India and tried to convince him. Requested him to allow Rohit to play his last Test in Sydney. It was even said that Rohit will announce his retirement from Test after this. Despite this, Gambhir remained firm on his point. So in the end the decision had to be taken to keep Rohit out.

Why did Gambhir reject the demand?

According to PTI report, Gautam Gambhir wants to win the Sydney Test at any cost. So that Team India remains in the race for the final of the World Test Championship. Therefore, at this time he does not want to make any compromise regarding the playing eleven. This is the reason why he does not want to play Rohit who is struggling with poor form.

On the other hand, the sourness between Rohit and Gambhir has increased so much that both are not even talking to each other. Rohit is conveying his message through Jasprit Bumrah and Agarkar. Apart from this, he also entered the net session after Gambhir and came last for practice. There was no conversation between the two during this period.
