Gurugram: In a unique move, quick commerce player Blinkit has launched a 10-minute ambulance service to provide fast medical assistance in Gurgaon. The service, which began on Thursday, January 2, is set to make emergency healthcare more accessible to the public. Starting with five ambulances on the roads of Gurgaon, Blinkit’s founder and CEO, Albinder Dhindsa, shared that the service will expand to other areas in the future. Users will be able to book a Basic Life Support (BLS) ambulance through the Blinkit app. Each ambulance will be staffed with a paramedic, an assistant, and a trained driver. Additionally, the vehicles will be equipped with essential life-saving equipment such as oxygen cylinders and stretchers. Dhindsa said that the service would be available at an affordable cost, stressing that "profit is not a goal here." This initiative aims to provide timely and affordable emergency services, especially in a city where fast access to healthcare can make all the difference. Blinkit, which competes with companies like Zepto and Instamart in the quick commerce space, is now venturing into the healthcare sector. The entry of traditional e-commerce players into the quick commerce market has sparked a wave of innovation, with Blinkit's ambulance service being one of the latest additions to its offerings.
