On Thursday night, a speeding Thar jeep rammed into the Kirtan town of the Sikh community in an area of Jaipur, the capital of Rajasthan. Due to this accident, an old man and a child present in the kirtan were injured, who were admitted to the hospital for treatment. After the incident, the angry crowd at the spot vandalized the Thar jeep. After this incident, people of Sikh community reached Adarsh Nagar police station and demanded action against the driver.
According to the police, Nagar Kirtan was being taken out from Saithi Colony Gurudwara to Guru Gobind Singh Park on Thursday night. When the kirtan reached near Panchavati Circle, a speeding Thar jeep rammed into the people participating in the kirtan. The policemen who were present there tried to stop the jeep, but instead of stopping the jeep, the driver increased the speed of the vehicle.
After the accident, there was chaos at the spot and angry people vandalized the Thar jeep. After this, people of the Sikh community reached Adarsh Nagar police station and demanded appropriate action from the police. During investigation, the police came to know that the youth driving the jeep was a minor and he is the son of a policeman. The police took him into custody and confiscated the jeep.
At the time of this incident, there were four people in the jeep, out of which three fled from the spot. Police have started searching for other suspects. After the incident, additional police forces were called from nearby police stations and people were explained to calm down.
People of the local Sikh community lodged a complaint at the police station and demanded strict action against the minor driver and his associates. Police have registered the case and started investigation.
