Fenerbahce secured an 84-76 victory against Anadolu Efes in Round 19 of the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague on Friday, marking a strong start to the new year for the Istanbul-based team.
Playing at the Ulker Sports and Event Hall, Marko Guduric led the charge with an all-around performance, scoring 17 points, grabbing seven rebounds, and dishing out seven assists.
After the game, Guduric highlighted the team’s recent struggles and the importance of defending their home court. “I think defensively we were good, and it’s good to start the new year with a win,” he said.
Tarik Biberovic also made a significant impact for Fenerbahce with 17 points, while Nigel Hayes-Davis contributed 12, and Devon Hall added 11.
Anadolu Efes, meanwhile, saw Elijah Bryant lead their efforts with 16 points. Shane Larkin followed with 15, while Jordan Nwora and Vincent Poirier chipped in with 12 points each.
The win improved Fenerbahce’s record to 11-7 in the EuroLeague standings, maintaining their dominance over Efes this season with a 2-0 head-to-head record. Anadolu Efes, now 10-9, will look to regroup in the coming rounds.
