New Delhi: A dream doesnt become reality through magic; it takes sweat determination and hard work. And the motivation story of Nitin Seth is proof. From his humble beginnings in a middle-class family to becoming a successful entrepreneur Nitin Seths journey feels like something out of a fairy tale. Though many people supported Nitin throughout his journey his guiding principle has always been simple: Set small goals and keep progressing. Step-by-step Nitins hard work has led to the creation of a company worth over 1000 crores today. Nitin Seth hails from a middle-class family. Speaking of his family Seths father was a medical representative (MR) while his mother was focused on managing the household. From a young age Nitin excelled in his studies and after passing the IIT entrance examination he secured admission in Bombay. Before completing his graduation he was selected through campus recruitment. It is a dream for every student to study at IIT and land a good job and Nitin’s dream was fulfilled early on. However a strong desire to do something more than just work in a job grew within him. This spark eventually turned into a fire and he decided to leave his job and along with a few friends start his own business. Nitin Seth stated that the idea for his business came from identifying a common problem. He shared that until recently most business communications with consumers were done either through phone SMS or calls. However this process was manual time-consuming and costly. In order to tackle this they began running loyalty programs for retailers in Mumbai through SMS and WhatsApp. However the challenge was that these retailers didn’t have an organized database of their customers. To solve this they started storing data in the cloud and partnered with Salesforce and Zoho. Nitin shared that he hails from a middle-class family where his parents focused deeply on their childrens education. Having studied engineering at IIT he acknowledged the high expectations his mother had from him yet she always encouraged him to experiment and innovate. SMS Magic he mentioned is his second startup. Prior to this he had worked on another venture in Mumbai with his IIT Bombay peers where they were creating location-based services in collaboration with Airtel and other telecom carriers. Nitin shared that after growing up in Delhi and beginning his journey in Mumbai he closely studied consumer behavior. Engaging with retailers provided him with valuable insights into their mindset and challenges. Given India’s diverse geography and large population they experimented with SMS campaigns and refined their approach based on the feedback they received. Today they have created a product of global caliber that is integrated with CRM and is successfully operating in the USA UK and Australia. According to the News 18 Hindi report Nitin shared that the biggest challenge for any entrepreneur is to establish market access and attract the best customers and partners. It took time for them to prove the quality of their products and reliability but Mumbai offered an open market providing them with access to many customers to test their ideas. Another constant challenge was to maintain a positive cash flow month after month. To address this they began collecting direct feedback from customers and focused on improving their satisfaction. Nitin says that every business idea requires funding to take shape. As per the News 18 Hindi report He raised around five lakh rupees from his friends and family which helped him create the first prototype of the SMS-based loyalty program. They have always relied on their own resources and have grown gradually which is why they never really raised funds from investors. Their first financial support came in the form of a loan from a bank after which they never looked back. Nitin Seth explains that SMS Magic and their new brand and product Conversive empower service providers such as doctors educational institutions and financial companies with interactive messaging. These service providers can directly communicate with their consumers at various stages of the lifecycle from inquiry to admission and post-support. They offer this communication through the most widely used channels including SMS email RCS WhatsApp and now voice bots. Additionally their product now includes features such as doctor appointment reminders and loan application notifications. Nitin Seth shared that the journey he started 10 years ago with the help of his friends has now transformed into a business worth 1000 crore rupees. They have established a strong presence in the U.S. market and are now aiming to expand deeper into these markets. Their goal is to enhance customer experience through AI-enabled conversations. With the help of their product a doctor will be able to serve patients via SMS WhatsApp voice and email channels without needing additional staff or assistants. Patients in turn will be able to reach out to doctors at any time.
