Former India opener Robin Uthappa has asked for strict action against 'Mr Fix-It' of Team India and said that he should be named and shamed. The Indian Express recently reported that a senior Indian player is interested in becoming the interim Test captain as he isn't convinced about the young players. The report didn't mention the name of the senior player.“Whoever Mr. Fix-It is, I think is an absolute disappointment of a human being at this point in time. I think whoever that is, he should be really ashamed of himself. At a time when you need to keep the team together to progress a personal agenda, is completely, in my opinion, pathetic. You don’t put yourself ahead of your team, irrespective of how bad things are,” Uthappa said in an Instagram video.“At that point in time, you actually double down on your team. You double down and say, ‘I’ll do whatever is required at that point in time.’ Whoever this person is, whether it’s a senior, not a senior, it does not matter, has to be named and shamed. This has to stop. This level of childishness and personal agenda being driven forward at a time when the team needs more unity, has to stop."

India kicked off the Australia tour with a win in Perth under Jasprit Bumrah's captaincy but nothing has gone their way since then. Rohit Sharma-led India suffered a defeat in the second Test match in Adelaide.Courtesy of the rain, the third Test match in Brisbane ended in a draw. India lost the fourth Test match of the series after losing seven wickets in the final session. Rohit struggled with the bat in the three Tests he played and only managed to score 31 runs. He decided to opt out of the ongoing Sydney game.Bumrah has been assisting Rohit in Test cricket since 2022 and he looks set to replace him as the full-time Test captain going forward. India will have a new vice-captain if Bumrah takes over captaincy.
