Indore (Madhya Pradesh): A man was booked for allegedly fleeing with a car hired from an app-based rental service in the Vijay Nagar police station area.

According to the police, one Ritik Singh, a resident of Mahalaxmi Nagar, lodged a complaint stating that he attached his vehicle to Zoom Car Company on August 7, 2024.

One Pranay Vilas Sahare, a resident of Ramnagar Kann Maharashtra rented his car through the app. The complainant handed over the vehicle to the accused on September 12 at Kalpkam Ghenu Nagar and the car had to be returned by October 4 however it has not been returned till date.

The complainant told the police that his friend Dharmendra Jat, a resident of Gulmar Complex Kanadiya also fell prey to a similar crime. He handed over his car to Vipin Nair, a resident of Nagpur. But till now, the accused has not returned his vehicle and has committed a criminal breach of trust. The police registered a case against the accused under section 316(2) of BNS and launched a probe.
