January 4, Jamnagar, Gujarat, India: As India commemorates the 25th anniversary of its renowned refinery, Anant Ambani, Director of Reliance Industries Limited, shared his desire to elevate Jamnagar’s status to unprecedented levels.

Speaking to Reliance workers during a celebration in Jamnagar, he spoke about his goals for the city, his passion for animals, and his dedication to realizing his father’s (Mukesh Ambani) and grandfather’s (Dhirubhai Ambani) ideals.

According to Anant Ambani, who spoke at the event, “I firmly believe that 25 years from now, when India celebrates its centenary of independence, we will take Jamnagar’s prestige and glory to unprecedented heights together.”

He reflected on the legacy of his grandfather, Dhirubhai Ambani, who had an ambition of constructing a world-class refinery, which Mukesh Ambani had realized while Dhirubhai was alive.

“Today, I feel grateful for being entrusted with this invaluable legacy,” Anant said. He told his father that he would make all of the visions associated with Jamnagar a reality on this historic day.

Anant Ambani also spoke passionately about his enthusiasm for birds and animals, highlighting the importance of Vantaar, a massive wildlife rescue, conservation, and rehabilitation facility founded by the Reliance Foundation and Reliance Industries.

He exhorted everyone to love and care for animals and birds, drawing inspiration from his mother, Nita Ambani, who taught him compassion for all living things.

“Vantaar has shown that Reliance treats birds and animals with the same consideration as it does people. It is a real-life manifestation of Reliance’s ‘We Care’ concept,” he said.

Last week marked the 25th anniversary of Reliance’s Jamnagar refinery, which is also the conglomerate’s first. On December 28, 1999, twenty-five years ago, Reliance opened its first refinery in Jamnagar. An important turning point in Reliance’s history, the Jamnagar refinery still stands as a testament to its industrial might. With projects like Vantaar, it is anticipated to witness further developments while promoting environmental preservation.
