The effect of severe cold is being seen from the country's capital Delhi to Jammu and Kashmir. Cold wave continues in entire North India including Delhi NCR. People are resorting to other means to escape the cold. Yellow and orange alerts have been issued in many states of North India regarding fog and cold. At the same time, a drop in temperature has been recorded in Delhi due to cold winds.
According to the Meteorological Department, due to Western Disturbance, strong winds and rain will continue in Delhi till January 6. Whereas the minimum temperature in Delhi has been recorded at 7.6 degrees Celsius. According to the Meteorological Department, the cold will increase further in Delhi in the coming days.
These days, severe cold is continuing in Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh and there is fog also. This Saturday morning there was a blanket of dense fog amidst the cold winds. Due to which visibility became zero. Vehicles have to be driven on the road with lights on. Not only this, due to fog, rail and air travel was also affected today. Due to fog, flights to Bangalore remained canceled and many trains passing through Bareilly were running late.

Due to the severe cold wave, school going children and the elderly are facing the most problems. The effect of severe cold is also being seen in Bihara. In view of the severe cold, Deputy Commissioner cum District Magistrate of Jharkhand's capital Ranchi, Manjunath Bhajantri, has directed to keep all the schools of the capital Ranchi closed on 6 and 7 January 2025, in order to provide relief to the school going children in this bone-chilling cold. .
