Arjun Kapoor, who was mostly raised by his mother, Mona Shourie, recently shared memories of the rare but special moments he spent with his father, Boney Kapoor, during his childhood. In a chat with a news portal, Arjun spoke about visiting the set of Roop Ki Rani Choron Ka Raja, a film Boney produced in 1992.

Arjun Kapoor addresses Sridevi as 'ma'am' Arjun told Galatta India, “My entire life with my father was being on the Roop Ki Rani Choron Ka Raja set. Even by today’s standards, it is one of the biggest films ever made. The film cost ₹10 crore in 1992." Addressing Sridevi as 'ma'am,' he said, "It had Anil Kapoor, Sridevi ma’am, Jaggu dada (Jackie Shroff), and Anupam Kher as the villain. There was also a pigeon with Anil chachu in the film named Django, who was my favorite character at the time.” For the unversed, after splitting up with Mona, Boney tied the knot with Sridevi. Earlier, addressing the split and his mom Mona's death, Arjun told Raj Shamani on his podcast, “Unlocking your core memory is tough when you have been through trauma. If you look at my life, scan through it, there has been enough trauma in terms of I lost my mother when I was 25, just before the release of Ishaqzaade, so that’s a pretty traumatic time. Just on the cusp of starting a profession where I didn’t know what my future was, I lost my backbone.” He added, “My parents split up when I was 10 years old. That’s something that, at that point, didn’t feel like it would shape me and change the course of my life entirely because I was dealing with it in real time. But when I look back, there are a lot of things that… For example, my father was busy making two big films when that was happening. He was making Prem and Roop Ki Rani Choron Ka Raja. He was under a lot of pressure to complete those films and release them. So, we never had a normal father-son relationship where he came to school to pick me up or drop me. It’s not that he didn’t try, but I never had that, and then the split happened also. That is slightly traumatic when you look back and retrospect.”
