Vineeta Singh was born in Anand Gujarat and spent much of her childhood with her grandmother in Bhavnagar. Later her father a medical professional secured a position at Delhi AIIMS leading the family to relocate to Delhi which became Vineeta’s new home. As the only daughter in the family she initially faced difficulties in making friends but eventually found her way just like any child. When she began her entrepreneurial journey in Mumbai the fact that her three co-founders were from the city played a key role in her decision to move there.
Vineeta’s entrepreneurial spirit sparked at a young age far earlier than most children who were busy playing. When she was just 10 she teamed up with a friend to create and publish a small magazine which they sold door-to-door. Priced at a modest Rs 3 the magazine was met with skepticism from potential buyers who considered it too expensive. This experience became a valuable lesson for Vineeta in understanding the worth of money and the challenges of pricing shaping her early understanding of business and finance.

According to her LinkedIn profile Vineeta completed her Class 12th from Delhi Public School R.K. Puram. Later she pursued her BTech in Electrical Engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology Madras. In 2005 she took admission at the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad.
Despite receiving a tempting job offer of Rs 1 crore during her time at IIM Vineeta chose to forge her own path turning down the conventional appeal of a corporate career to pursue her entrepreneurial dreams.
Driven by her entrepreneurial passion Vineeta first ventured into launching a lingerie brand focused on women utilizing e-commerce platforms for growth. Unfortunately the business struggled due to limited funding and her lack of experience in managing a company. Undeterred she shifted gears and started a background verification service accepting a modest salary of Rs 10000. While the business showed notable revenue growth Vineeta eventually recognized its limitations and decided to pivot yet again searching for a path that aligned better with her long-term goals.
In 2012 Vineeta along with her husband Kaushik Mukherjee co-founded Sugar Cosmetics with a mission to make high-quality beauty products accessible to the youth. Prior to this Vineeta worked as a summer intern at Deutsche bank in London and New York served as a director at Quetzal Verify Private Limited and was a cofounder at FAB Bag.
When Vineeta first started out in Mumbai she was forced to live in a small house that frequently flooded during the rainy season. Today however she resides in a luxurious home in Powai. Vineetas husband Kaushik Mukherjee is the COO and co-founder of Sugar Cosmetics. The two met while pursuing their MBA fell in love and got married in 2011. The couple is blessed with two sons.
Vineeta Singh is the Co-founder & CEO of SUGAR Cosmetics Indias fastest growing beauty brand with a distribution network of 35000+ branded retail outlets in more than 540+ cities. One of the sharks on the reality-show Shark Tank India she is committed to creating products that allow every Indian woman to find a favourite and inspire them to start their own entrepreneurship journey. An alumnus of IIT Madras and IIM Ahmedabad she is famously known for declining a ₹1cr job offer from a leading investment bank to follow her heart and dive into entrepreneurship. Also a triathlete and ultramarathoner her passion for running has helped her challenge her limits time and again reads her LinkedIn bio. As per the media reports Sugar Cosmetics is valued at approximately Rs 4000 crore.
