Prime Minister Narendra Modi is going to inaugurate the new section of Namo Bharat train between Anand Vihar and New Ashok Nagar in Delhi on Friday. This 13 kilometer long track has cost about Rs 4,600 crore. With this expansion, it is expected that lakhs of passengers of Delhi-NCR will benefit from reduced congestion and travel time.

After the addition of the new section, the journey between Meerut and parts of Delhi will reduce significantly. Under the entire rapid rail project, 27 stations are to be constructed on a total 82.15 km long route. Trains are already running on some sections from Sahibabad to Meerut, and now the addition of Anand Vihar-New Ashok Nagar section will open up many connecting options for passengers. After completion of this route, travel from Delhi to Meerut will be possible in about 40 minutes.
