When Medal of Freedom Recipient Chef Jose Andres Posed For A Photo With Accused Trump Assassin Ryan Routh

Chef, restauranteur and humanitarian José Andrés was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom, the nation’s highest civilian honor, at a White House ceremony Saturday. However, now a photo of José Andrés with incoming President Donald Trump's would-be assassin, Ryan Wesley Routh.

The former president was playing golf at his golf club in West Palm Beach, Florida, in September, when Routh was shot by the Secret Service personnel guarding the then-presidential candidate. The secret service operatives saw him carrying a gun, but he hadn't yet fired. The event did not result in any reported injuries. The accused dropped the AR-15-style rifle and fled the area in an SUV, officials told the Associated Press. Later, the cops from a nearby neighborhood caught him. Who Is Jose Andres?Jose Andres is a Spanish-American chef credited with popularizing the tapas dining concept in the US. Among the many well-known eateries he has developed are the two Michelin-starred minibars in Washington, DC. Additionally, Andres established World Central Kitchen (WCK), a nonprofit organization that serves food in places affected by disasters. In 2015, he received the National Humanities Medal for his humanitarian efforts, which he received in the White House in 2016. He was appointed co-chair of the US President's Council on Sports, Fitness, and Nutrition in 2022. Presidential Medal of FreedomThe 19 recipients of the Presidential Medal of Freedom, the highest civilian award in the country, were unveiled by President Joe Biden on Saturday. Several of the most well-known figures in science, politics, sports, entertainment, civil rights, and LGBTQ+ advocacy are on the list. Jose Andres was among the recipients of this prestigious award, alongside Hillary Clinton, Bono, Lionel Messi and others.
