Before the day’s play began, Indian team members gave former Australian cricketer Glenn McGrath autographed hats. Notably, in an effort to support the McGrath Foundation, the third day of the Sydney Test is dubbed the Pink Day.

The ‘Pink Test,’ which takes place at the Sydney Cricket Ground every year, is the New Year’s Test match. The stands, the venue’s signs, and even the stumps are all painted pink during the game.

The Sydney Test’s third day is known as the Jane McGrath day.

The goal of this unusual action is to increase awareness of breast cancer. Jane, Glenn’s wife, passed away from the illness. In 2005, he established the McGrath Foundation when she was diagnosed.

In order to further their goal of raising money and awareness for breast cancer patients and survivors, this charity has partnered with several corporations and works with Cricket Australia.

“We have dedicated our lives to helping those with breast cancer for the last 20 years. According to the Foundation’s website, “We are now providing care for all cancers because no one should experience cancer without the support of a McGrath Cancer Care Nurse.”

Since 2009, the Sydney Test has been known as the Pink Test. South Africa’s visit to Australia was the first of these games.

“The Pink Test has become one of the largest philanthropic sports events in the world since 2009 thanks to the collaboration of Cricket Australia, Sydney Cricket Ground, and the McGrath Foundation. “The Pink Test has enabled us to provide our world-class cancer nursing care throughout Australia, thanks to the kindness of the cricket community and the country as a whole,” the statement adds.

In the last Test of the five-match series against India, Australia emerged victorious after dismissing the visitors for a mere 157 runs in their second innings.

Australia ended well at lunchtime on Day 3 despite losing wickets as they chased the goal of 162 runs. With Travis Head and Usman Khawaja at the crease, they finished the first session with a score of 71/3.

Prasidh Krishna took three early wickets, removing Steve Smith (4), Marnus Labuschagne (6), and Sam Konstas (22), helping India regain the lead.
