According to the official, poor weather caused more than 45 flights to be canceled in Delhi and at the destination airports.
According to the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), there will be heavy fog in the northern states on Sunday as well. A yellow signal for heavy fog in Bihar has also been issued by the meteorological service. Due to the heavy fog, many districts—including Darbhanga, Samastipur, Sitamarhi, and Muzaffarpur—saw a decrease in temperature and decreased visibility, particularly in the morning. In Dehradun and Chandigarh, a number of the planes had delays as well. In these places, airport officials advised travelers to keep informed. While Shimla is experiencing record-breaking temperatures this season, areas like Rohtang and Shikunja saw significant snowfall.
In addition, Saturday and Sunday are seeing record-breaking cold in Bengaluru. According to the IMD advice, Bengaluru has seen a notable decline as a consequence of the cold wave that has affected the majority of the northern states. The meteorological service also forecast that, in contrast to January’s normal minimum temperature of 15.8 degrees Celsius, Bengaluru residents will have a minimum temperature of about 10.2 degrees Celsius.
