New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to inaugurate and lay the foundation stone for a series of significant development projects in Delhi on Sunday, with a total investment exceeding ₹12,000 crore.
Among the highlights is the launch of a segment of the Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut Namo Bharat corridor, marking the introduction of rapid transit connectivity to the national capital.
Major Inaugurations and Investments
According to the Prime Minister's Office (PMO), PM Modi will commence his visit by inaugurating a crucial 13 km stretch between Sahibabad (Ghaziabad) and New Ashok Nagar (Delhi), which carries an investment of approximately ₹4,600 crore. This initiative is expected to enhance transportation efficiency significantly.
At 11:15 am, Modi will experience a ride on the Namo Bharat train, traversing from Sahibabad to New Ashok Nagar.In addition to this, the Prime Minister will unveil a 2.8 km stretch connecting Janakpuri and Krishna Park as part of Delhi Metro Phase-IV, with an estimated cost of ₹1,200 crore. This segment will serve areas in West Delhi, including Krishna Park, Vikaspuri, and Janakpuri.
Future Projects and Developments
The foundation stone-laying ceremony will also include several other notable projects. Among them is the 26.5 km Rithala-Kundli section of the Delhi Metro under Phase-IV, which aims to connect Delhi with Nathupur (Kundli) in Haryana. This project is projected to cost around ₹6,230 crore and will significantly improve connectivity in the northwestern regions of Delhi and Haryana.Furthermore, PM Modi will initiate the construction of a new state-of-the-art facility for the Central Ayurveda Research Institute (CARI) located in Rohini.
The investment for this project is approximately ₹185 crore. The new campus will feature an Administrative Block, OPD Block, IPD Block, and a dedicated Treatment Block, ensuring an integrated healthcare experience for patients and researchers.
These developments reflect the government's commitment to enhancing infrastructure and connectivity in Delhi and its surrounding areas. As PM Modi embarks on this initiative, it promises not only to boost local economies but also to provide residents with improved access to rapid transit systems and healthcare facilities.
