Chandigarh: A thick layer of fog has blanketed Chandigarh’s sky, reducing visibility to almost nothing. On Sunday, the city woke up to 17 degrees Celsius of maximum temperature and 10 degrees Celsius of minimum temperature. Residents of Chandigarh shared visuals of dense fog enveloping the city, severely reducing visibility for commuters. This has resulted in delayed flights, trains and even road accidents. Amid the biting cold, the city may experience rain on Monday, January 6, said the India Meteorological Department (IMD). As fog is unlikely to get cleared, Chandigarh will see a couple of rounds of rain and thunderstorm altogether, the met office stated. The maximum temperature will reduce to 16 degrees.
