Patna: Early on Monday morning, the Patna Police arrested Prashant Kishor, the leader of Jan Suraaj. He was demanding action against the purported BPSC test paper leak while on an ongoing hunger strike.
The Gandhi Maidan location where Jan Suraaj leader Prashant Kishor was sitting on a fast-unto-death with the demonstrators has also been cleared by Patna Police. The cars departing from Gandhi Maidan were also inspected by Patna Police.
Kishor was participating in a fast-unto-death protest against BPSC anomalies, which was started on January 2 in solidarity with the students who are asking that the Bihar Public Service Commission exam be canceled.
The officers loaded him into an ambulance. The Jan Suraaj leader said prior to his arrest that the party will petition the High Court on January 7 for BPSC violations.
“Whether or not we decide to continue this (protest) is not up to us. We won’t alter our current course of action; we’ll keep doing it.On the 7th, we (the Jan Suraaj Party) will submit a plea to the High Court,” Prashant Kishor said.
Prashant Kishor met with demonstrators in Patna’s Gandhi Maidan earlier on Sunday. Additionally, he encouraged Tejashwi Yadav, the Leader of the Opposition (LoP) and a “tall” leader of the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), to spearhead the demonstration.
Kishor was reacting to what the former Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar had said. He said that Yadav, as the LoP, ought to have led the demonstration rather than him.
“He is a towering leader, Tejashwi Yadav. He is the LoP as well. The demonstrations ought to have been led by him. I’ve been urging them to spearhead the demonstration. We’ll move aside. He said that he will be bringing five lakh people to Gandhi Maidan. It is important to discuss students and their problems. Politics may occur at any time. There isn’t a party flag here. The founder of Jan Suraaj told reporters, “We are concerned about the students’ agenda.”
“A dharna is not what this is. The people of Bihar are passionate about improving their circumstances and securing a brighter future. People from many walks of life are seated here, and some are singing in this chilly weather. I’m sick of responding to allegations. If you can, look around and locate the vanity vehicle. Kishor answered, “We’ll sleep here too.”
Tejashwi Yadav said on Saturday that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) was politicizing the BPSC protest issue.
He said that the students attending the demonstration were the BJP’s B squad and accused the autonomous student movement of getting politicized in an interview with ANI.
It’s become really politicized. The Bihar people, in our opinion, will have to acknowledge that these individuals are the BJP’s “B” squad and are attempting to stifle this independent movement. “This is absolutely unacceptable,” he said.
“An attempt was made to end the movement,” Yadav said in reference to the scandal surrounding the vanity van owned by Jan Suraaj Chief Prashant Kishor. The director and producer force the actors to sit in the vanity van, and we are aware of who they are, why they are sitting there, and who they are. Everyone is aware.
Due to suspected question paper leaks, the students are demanding that the BPSC revoke the Integrated Combined (Preliminary) Competitive Examination (CCE) 2024, which was held on December 13.
