Man Strangles Mother To Death Over Drinking Dispute, Then Dies By Suicide Near Bengaluru

Bengaluru: In a tragic incident on the outskirts of Bengaluru, a 21-year-old man strangled his mother to death during an argument at their residence and later died by suicide. The incident occurred on Saturday night in the Old Chandapura area.
According to a PTI report, the deceased has been identified as Lakshmi Devi, 41, and her son Ramesh, 21. Police stated that Ramesh, who was an alcoholic, had a heated argument with his mother after she objected to his drinking habits.
The report mentioned that a case has been registered based on a complaint filed by his father, Manjanna. The police said further legal proceedings will follow.
The family, originally from Vijayanagara district, lived in a rented house in the area. Police also revealed that Ramesh worked as a cleaner but was irregular in his duties.

In a separate incident, a woman in Bengaluru allegedly jumped off from a moving auto when she realised that the driver was taking her to the wrong location near Hebbal. Initially, the woman asked the driver to stop the vehicle but he did not listen to her. The auto-driver who was in an inebriated situation, continued to take her towards the wrong direction. Following this, the woman leapt from the moving vehicle. The Bengaluru Police has arrested the driver and registered a FIR in the case.
A Bengaluru resident and an activist named Azhar Khan shared the information on social media platform X, formerly Twitter. He said, "Namma Yatri Auto Issue! My wife booked an auto from Horamavu to Thanisandra, Bangalore, but the driver was drunk and took her towards the wrong location near Hebbal. Despite repeatedly asking him to stop, he didn’t listen, forcing her to jump out of the moving auto".
