Bollywood star Abhishek Bachchan has expanded beyond his interest in the Indian Super League (ISL) and Pro Kabaddi League by co-owning a cricket franchise now. Abhishek the son of Indian superstar Amitabh Bachchan is owner of Jaipur Pink Panthers in the PKL and co-owner of Chennaiyin Football Club in the ISL with former India captain MS Dhoni. The European T20 Premier League (ETPL) a privately-owned franchise tournament in partnership with three member cricket nations – Ireland Scotland and the Netherlands – has taken a significant leap forward with renowned actor entrepreneur and sports enthusiast Abhishek Bachchan investing in the property as a co-owner. The ETPL which has been sanctioned by the International Cricket Council (ICC) is set to get underway from July 15th – August 3rd 2025 and will feature the best of talent from the three nations rubbing shoulders with world-class players from across the world in true European style. This working group is tasked with steering key decision-making processes and overseeing the establishment and resourcing of a dedicated administrative entity to manage the tournament.
