After Dhanush, makers of THIS movie takes legal action against Nayanthara – Know the truth

Nayantharas wedding documentary Nayanthara: Beyond The Fairy Tale has stirred another controversy. The documentary which showcases the love story and grand yet intimate wedding of Nayanthara and director Vignesh Shivan also includes behind-the-scenes moments from some of the actresss movies. The wedding was held in Mahabalipuram in 2022 and the documentary is streaming on a popular OTT platform.
Recently actor Chitra Lakshmanan shared through his YouTube channel that the makers of the Tamil blockbuster Chandramukhi were upset about clips from the movie being used in the documentary without proper permission. Reports claimed that a legal notice was sent to Nayanthara and the streaming platform regarding this issue.

However the Chandramukhi team denied these allegations. They clarified that no legal case had been filed against the actress or the platform and stated that permission was granted to include the footage in the documentary.
It’s worth noting that this isn’t the first time Nayanthara’s wedding documentary has faced controversy. Earlier actor and producer Dhanush who produced the 2015 movie Naanum Rowdy Dhaan filed a legal complaint for using clips from the film without approval. This led to a public dispute between Dhanush and Nayanthara where she mocked him through a letter shared on social media.
Nayanthara: Beyond The Fairy Tale gives a heartfelt look into the couples life and celebrates Nayanthara’s journey as a star. Her appearance as Durga in the 2005 hit Chandramukhi alongside Rajinikanth and Jyotika was one of her career milestones. The movie’s success further solidified her position as a leading actress in Tamil cinema.
