Theres no doubt that action-thrillers have been making waves in the film industry recently. With action-packed films like Animal Kill and Salaar the cinema has been garnering significant attention for their high-octane action sequences and gripping narratives. However one film has managed to dethrone them all with its intense violence and complex storytelling. This movie not only stands out for its heart-pounding action but also for the emotional impact it has had on its cast. The movie is Haneef Adenis Marco. Marco which was released worldwide on December 20 2024 features Unni Mukundan in the titular role alongside Siddique Jagadish Abhimanyu S Thilakan Kabir Duhan Singh Anson Paul and Yukti Thareja in supporting roles. The movie is being touted as one of the most violent movies ever made in our industry - far more brutal than Sandeep Reddy Vangas Animal and Nikhil Nagesh Bhats Kill. The Movie Affected This Actor The Most The violence in this film is so extreme that it left a deep psychological mark on the antagonist of the film Kabir Duhan Singh. The actor described playing the villain character Cyrus Isaac as one of the most challenging experiences of his career. Reflecting on the toll the character took on him he shared The recognition I have received for Marco is something I had been waiting for a long time and the tremendous response it has received has further strengthened my identity as an actor. He also mentioned how one scene particularly affected him the most and he had to meditate to get over it. He mentioned There was one scene in the film that pushed me beyond my limits. The scene involved the murder of a pregnant woman. The character is arguably the most ruthless villain in Indian cinema and bringing it to life was not at all easy. It wasnt just a case of switching on and off; meditation was my support during this difficult transition. About The Film Marco has been a massive success. In just 17 days since its release on December 20 2024 the film has grossed over Rs 51.75 crores in India with Rs 39.52 crores coming from Malayalam Rs 8.48 crores from Hindi Rs 3.05 crores from Telugu and Rs 0.7 crores from Tamil. Made on a budget of only 30 crores the film has earned Rs 60 to 70 crores worldwide. Directed by Haneef Adeni the film stars Unni Mukundan in the lead role and follows the story of a gold-trading family in Kerala shaken by a shocking incident.
