WhatsApp Pay Now Available For All Users In India: How It Works

WhatsApp Pay is now finally available to all users in India. Previously, the service faced usage restrictions imposed by the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI). However, with these limitations now lifted, WhatsApp Pay is available for seamless use across the country.

WhatsApp Pay has been limited to a maximum of 100 million users for the past two years. This restriction was put in place by the NPCI to guarantee the security and seamless operation of the service. However, WhatsApp Pay can now provide UPI services to all Indian users thanks to the recent improvement. “We are pleased to announce that WhatsApp Pay can now offer UPI services to all its users in India," the NPCI stated in a press release.
This move allows WhatsApp users to enjoy the same convenience as other UPI-based systems, enabling them to send and receive money directly within the app. WhatsApp Pay streamlines transactions, allowing users to make payments without ever leaving the platform.

Much like other UPI-enabled apps such as Google Pay, PhonePe, and Paytm, WhatsApp Pay lets users request or transfer money to contacts, providing a seamless payment experience.
