Chinese virus like Corona has been confirmed in a two-month old child from Richha village of Sabala area of Dungarpur district of Rajasthan. HMPV virus has been found in the child. The child is admitted in a hospital in Gujarat for 12 days. The child is said to be healthy now. When a two-month old child from Sabala area of Dungarpur complained of cold and cough, his family members took him to Modasa in Gujarat. Where when the child did not get any rest, the family members took him to Orange Hospital in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. The child was tested, in which he was found HMPV virus positive.
At present the child is being treated in Ahmedabad, Gujarat and his condition is said to be out of danger. Here in Dungarpur district, the Medical and Health Department has not received official information about the case, but based on the information received from the media, the department is busy tracking the child's family.
Rajasthan Health Minister Gajendra Singh Khinvsar said that some cases of Human Metapneumovirus (HMPV) have been reported in some states in the country, but there is no need to panic. Khinvsar said that according to medical experts, this virus has been present since 2001, but its effect on patients has been moderate. No case of death or worrying situation has been reported due to this virus.
In an official statement, Khinvsar said that like every year, in view of the winter season, children, elderly, pregnant women and people suffering from serious diseases should consult a doctor in the hospital in case of cold, cough, cold and fever etc. He said that a video conference was organized by the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare with the Health Secretaries of all the states regarding this virus, in which it was also clarified that this virus is not fatal.
The minister said that usually some cases of this virus are seen during the winter season with common symptoms like cough and cold and from March to December, nine cases have been identified across the country. The Health Minister has said that according to the Central Government, the spread of HMP virus is negligible at present, but as a precaution, medical officers across the state have been instructed to remain alert and alert. Besides, it has also been asked to ensure other necessary preparations including testing, treatment.
He said that at present five VRDL labs are available in the state for authentic testing of this virus at AIIMS Jodhpur, Sawai Mansingh Hospital Jaipur, RNT Medical College Udaipur, Sardar Patel Medical College Bikaner and SN Medical College Jodhpur. The minister said that if a serious patient with symptoms of this virus comes to any hospital, testing can be done in these laboratories.
Khinvsar has said that if any private hospital finds possible symptoms of this virus in any patient, they should send the samples to these VRDL labs for authentic testing. Also, inform the health department in this regard. Chief Government Secretary of the department, Gayatri Rathore said that a two-month-old child from Dungarpur is under treatment in Ahmedabad.
He said that this child born due to premature delivery has shown symptoms of HMP virus, but the condition of the child is currently normal. Rathore told that this child, suffering from cold, cough and cold, was found infected with HMP virus on 26 December 2024 in a private hospital in Ahmedabad during treatment. The official said that he is fine at the moment and no case of this virus has been reported in Rajasthan so far.
