Meanwhile, the company has decided to shut down its 3G service, which will affect millions of users. BSNL will shut down its 3G services in Patna from January 15, 2025. Earlier, BSNL shut down the 3G network in Munger, Khagaria, Begusarai, Katihar, and Motihari in its first phase.

According to the information in this phase, the 3G network of other districts including Patna will now be shut down. Due to this, customers with 3G SIM will only get a calling facility, data facility will not be available.

Lakhs of users will be affected:
According to BSNL's Chief General Manager RK Chaudhary, the 4G network has been completely updated in various districts of the state. Due to this, the 3G network has been shut down in most of the districts. From January 15, 3G service will be shut down in the rest of the districts as well. Currently, lakhs of users are using 3G services in Patna and other cities.

Get a new SIM for free in exchange for 3G SIM

You can replace a BSNL 3G SIM with a 4G SIM card. The good thing is that no fee will have to be paid for this. For this, BSNL customers can go to their nearest customer care center or BSNL office and get a new SIM. You will get a new SIM in return by depositing the old SIM there.

To get a new SIM issued, users will have to carry their photo ID with them. SIMs issued before 2017 are being replaced. The most important thing is that the new SIM will also support 5G. Therefore, when 5G services start, you will not have to get a new SIM again.
