A post was made on the X platform (old name Twitter) of the Indian Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-in), an agency of the Government of India. This post explains how one can stay safe from OTP cyber fraud.

You may receive a call from a toll-free number that appears to be that of a bank or other financial authority. They may then ask you for an OTP. You need to be cautious about such calls.

Do not share things like bank details, bank debit card details, OTP, date of birth and account number on calls and messages coming from an unknown number.

To verify the bank's number or any service, you can take the help of the official website.

At the same time, in the greed of cashback and rewards, never share OTP on phone calls, messages online links etc.

Let us tell you that cases of cyber fraud are increasing rapidly in the country. The government is also constantly making people aware of cyber fraud.

The government has appealed to the people not to click on any unknown link. Also, do not share OTT with anyone.
