Recently, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has released a list of 207 films for the Best Picture Category for the year Oscar 2025. Many other Indian films are included in this list. Which includes Prithviraj Sukumaran's Aadujeevitham i.e. Goat Life, Dev Patil Monkey Man, Shahana Goswami's Santosh, Randeep Hooda's Swatantra Veer Savarkar, All We Imagine As Light and Ali Fazal and Richa Chaddha's production debut film Girls Will Be Girls.
After the release of Kanguva, it was criticized for its Hindi dubbing and very loud BGM. The film was an epic fantasy adventure. Tamil superstar Surya made a comeback with this film after a break of 2 years. Bobby Deol became the villain in the film, who enters in the second half. However, the film could not impress people and flopped. Now it will be interesting to see whether this film makes its way to the Oscars or not.
Talking about other films, All We Imagine As Light has already received a lot of love from the people. The film has also received very good response from critics. Girls Will Be Girls is also being liked a lot. Dev Patil's Monkey Man was not released in India, however, there was a lot of buzz about this film. Whereas Shahana Goswami's Santosh and Prithviraj Sukumaran's Aadujeevitham i.e. Goat Life have received very good response.
Voting for nominations will begin from January 8, 2025, and will end on January 12, 2025. Final nominations will be announced on January 17, 2025. Whereas, the Oscar ceremony will take place on March 2, 2025.
