Flipkart founder Sachin Bansal is mulling to sell his stake in app-based ride service Ola. Bansal invested $100 million in Bhavish Aggarwal’s company in 2019.  According to a report published in Economic Times the deal will take place on the basis of valuation. Bansal reportedly asked for a premium by valuing the company at $4 billion. The companys value was $3 billion when Bansal had made the investment.  Both Bansal and Aggarwal have become leaders in their respective segments- e-commerce and app based ride- and they launched their companies to challenge Amazon and Uber.  The reports stated that Bansal’s proposal to sell his stake in the company is being widely discussed in other groups too.  The Flipkart founder sold his stake in Ather Energy to Zerodha.  The reports suggest that Bansal wants to focus on Navi his fintech company. He is selling his stake in Ola to invest in his fintech company. It is being reportedly said that Bansal is also exploring options to raise funds externally but it is not yet decided. The report cited that Navi is facing regulatory problems to raise funds externally.  In August 2024 Ola was valued at $2 billion by Vanguard and it had witnessed a decline from 2021 at $7.3 billion.
