Premier League clubs commence race for Lille star David?

According to journalist Dharmesh Sheththere could be a hotly-contested race for the services of Lille man David brewing this month ahead of the next transfer window.

The report claims that four Premier League clubs have approached the representatives of the 24-year-old over the possible signing of the player in 2025.

With his contract at Lille expiring at the conclusion of the campaign, David is able to discuss terms with clubs outside of France this month.

As well as a quartet of English sides, it is understood that two clubs in Italy are interested in sealing the services of the Canada international.

At this point in the transfer saga, it is unclear which teams are in the race for David, although Barcelona have been linked with the attacker in the past.

Who could benefit from signing David?

With Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee failing to live up to expectations at Old Trafford, Manchester United could do with the arrival of David in the near future.

Stamford Bridge and Chelsea would have been a good destination for the Canadian, however Nicolas Jackson is beginning to blossom into a top-class striker.

A switch to Tottenham Hotspur is off the table following the Lilywhites’ signing of England international Dominic Solanke from Bournemouth at the start of the term.
