New Delhi: A shocking incident came to light in China, where a young man died after falling from his girlfriend's car. This incident was not only painful for his family, but it also gave rise to a major legal dispute. In this case, which has become an interesting and controversial legal matter, the young man's wife is now demanding a compensation of Rs 70 lakh.
The incident took place in 2022, when a married man named Wang was in an illicit relationship with his girlfriend Liu. However, his wife had no knowledge of the affair until she encountered the matter after her husband's death. The incident took place in July 2023, when there was an argument between Wang and Liu over some issue.
The two were traveling in Liu's car after having dinner at a restaurant. Both were drunk and Wang was sitting in the car without wearing a seat belt. During the journey, Wang fell from the car and fell on the road. Liu panicked and called an ambulance and took Wang to the hospital, but Wang died of brain injuries during treatment.
Police investigation revealed that Wang was not wearing a seat belt, due to which he fell and got injured. However, Liu was found not guilty of any wrongdoing. After this tragic incident, Wang's wife claimed compensation in the court. He asked for compensation of 6 lakh yuan (about Rs 70.36 lakh) from Liu. This demand was made on the grounds that Wang's illicit relationship with Liu caused the accident and that Liu was indirectly involved in her death.
The matter reached the court and the judge rejected the wife's demand for full compensation. However, the court ordered Liu to pay compensation of 65,000 yuan (about Rs 8 lakh). The court also made it clear that Liu could not be held responsible for Wang's death, as the incident was entirely the result of Wang's own negligence.
