Doctors confirmed the virus through rapid PCR test and admitted the girl to the ICU. Doctors say that there is no specific treatment for HMPV virus, so the girl was given symptomatic treatment with medicines like bronchodilators.
Let us tell you that the girl was admitted to the hospital on January 1 after suffering from cough, chest tightness and oxygen level falling to 84%. Doctors confirmed the virus through rapid PCR test and admitted the girl to the ICU. However, doctors say that there is no specific treatment for HMPV virus, so the girl was given symptomatic treatment with medicines like bronchodilators. After treatment, the girl was discharged from the hospital after 5 days.
Earlier, two cases of HMPV were also reported in Nagpur, Maharashtra. However, both the patients are now healthy and their treatment has been completed. The reports of these children have been sent to the National Institute of Virology (NIV) based in Pune.
