Sangareddy: A horrifying act of animal cruelty has emerged from Edumailaram village in Sangareddy district, leaving animal lovers and locals outraged. More than 30 dogs were found in a horrific state, bound with wires around their legs and mouths. Several of them were already dead when discovered.
The tragedy came to light on 4th January when an anonymous tip-off led the Citizens for Animals (CFA) team to the gruesome scene. They were supported by the Animal Warriors Conservation Society (AWCS), which deployed a rescue team, and People for Animals (PFA) Hyderabad, which provided shelter for the surviving animals.
The rescuers described the scene as gut-wrenching. Among the 32 dogs found, 21 were already dead, while 11 were rescued. Many of the surviving dogs were in critical condition, with injuries from the tight binding wires cutting into their limbs and mouths.
CFA members expressed their shock at the cruelty. A spokesperson said, “It was a heart-breaking sight. These poor animals were tied so tightly, that they couldn’t even bark for help. The fact that someone could do this is beyond comprehension.”
AWCS rescue teams acted swiftly, providing first aid and ensuring the surviving dogs were transported safely to PFA Hyderabad. The shelter is now caring for the rescued dogs, many of whom will require long-term treatment and rehabilitation.
Animal rights activists and citizens have demanded a thorough investigation into the incident to bring the perpetrators to justice. The local authorities have been notified, and efforts are underway to identify those responsible for this heinous act.
