The popular past singer, songwriter, and musician Hassan Jahangir has claimed that Bollywood’s “Dabangg” hero Salman Khan, among several other Bollywood actors, copied his style.
Hassan Jahangir recently appeared on the ‘FHM’ podcast, where he spoke candidly about various matters, including his music career.
Speaking during the program, he admitted that he grew up watching Bollywood movies and listening to songs like everyone else.
He said that he noticed at an early age that in Bollywood, a song is sung by someone, written by someone else, music composed by someone else while choreography is done by someone else.
Hassan Jahangir said that at that time he thought that he would do everything himself and then it happened, he did everything himself, he introduced new trends and styles.
According to the singer, although he modeled his style after watching popular Hollywood actors of the time, including actors like Mithan Chakraborty and Jeetendra, later actors copied his style.
He said that after the song ‘Hawa Hawa’ became popular, he became popular not only in Pakistan but also in India and his said song started playing everywhere from Gurdwaras to temples.
Hassan Jahangir said that he was setting fire in India in 1978 and 79, he had become a popular singer there, he started going there and doing concerts.
He went on to say that he was the first singer to take off his shirt during his music concert and later actors copied him.
He said in a questioning manner that when did Salman Khan become a star? Before Salman Khan became a star, he had set India on fire in 1979, introducing new trends and styles. Hassan Jahangir claimed that later actors including Salman Khan copied his style while he himself adopted the style after watching popular Hollywood actors of the past.
