The Korean language drama Squid Game 2 has been creating waves ever since it dropped on Netflix at the end of 2024, and fans are now waiting with bated breath for the third season after the nailbiting cliffhanger. In the midst of this, actress Park Gyu-Young sent the audience into a frenzy after she accidentally leaked a major spoiler related to Season 3.

Gyu-Young, who plays No-Eul, took to her Instagram handle on Wednesday to share a picture of herself from the sets of Squid Game 3, in which she can be seen lounging after a hectic day of shoot. However, eagle-eyed netizens spotted another key actor in the background, and were stunned because his character was presumed to be dead in the second season.

The actor spotted in the photo was none other than Lee Jin-Wook, who played the role of Gyeong-Seok aka Player 246 in the second season. He is the father of the little kid shown in the beginning of the season, who was battling cancer.

In the photo, Jin-Wook too can be seen wearing the pink suit that is worn by the guards on the show, and netizens wondered if the character was somehow saved by No-Eul after the players' failed ambush plan at the facility, because she knew the reason behind his participation in the game.

It is to be noted that Jin-Wook's character was one of the men who attacked the guards in the last episode of Season 2, but after the plan fell apart, a pink guard was seen shooting him dead. However, after the leaked photo, fans realised that it was never really revealed if Jin-Wook's character was shot dead as only a gunshot can be heard in the scene.

As soon as netizens went wild with their theories, Gyu-Young realised her goof up and deleted the photo from her Instagram handle. Her move only further convinced fans that the theories were indeed set to turn true in the third season.

Squid Game Season 3, which will be the final season of the show, is set to release in 2025 itself. If reports are to be believed, the show will go live on June 27, 2025, but the makers are yet to announce the date officially.
