Vin Diesel has addressed the online buzz surrounding his interaction with Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson at the 2025 Golden Globes. The Fast & Furious star caused a stir during the awards ceremony when he paused mid-presentation, looked directly at Johnson in the audience, and said, “Hi Dwayne,” with a cryptic smile. Johnson, seated in the front row, responded with an awkward grin, and the moment quickly went viral, reigniting speculation about their long-standing feud.

Social media erupted with theories, with many fans wondering if the old tension between the two action stars had resurfaced. The duo’s history of public disagreements dates back to their time working together on the Fast & Furious franchise .

However, Diesel was quick to shut down the rumors. Days after the incident, he posted an old photo of himself and Johnson from the Fast Five premiere in Rio de Janeiro back in 2015. In the caption, Diesel simply wrote, “All love… Always…” The heartfelt caption seemed to signal that whatever tension had existed between the two in the past was no longer an issue.

Their rivalry began in 2016 when Johnson, in a now-deleted Instagram post, referred to some of his male co-stars as “candy asses.” Though he didn’t name names at the time, Johnson later confirmed in an interview with Rolling Stone that he was referring to Diesel. Johnson explained that their differing approaches to work and collaboration had caused friction on set.

The feud escalated over time, with both stars making indirect jabs at each other during interviews and online. Despite the tension, their rivalry brought undeniable attention to the Fast & Furious franchise, which remains one of Universal’s most successful film series, grossing over $7 billion globally.

At the Golden Globes, Diesel’s moment with Johnson might have appeared tense, but his follow-up social media post suggested otherwise. It seems the two stars have chosen to leave their differences in the past—or at least keep them off the public stage.

For now, fans can breathe a sigh of relief knowing that the two action heroes are keeping things peaceful. Whether they’ll share the screen again in the Fast & Furious universe remains uncertain, but Diesel’s recent gesture suggests that the door isn’t entirely closed.
