In 2002, Ekta Kapoor's serial Kasautii Zindagi Kay premiered and nearly all its characters became household names. The lead role of Anurag Basu portrayed by Cezanne Khan, catapulted him to fame overnight.
During that time, Khan's fan following surged, with the serial making him a popular figure. However, he later took a sabbatical from acting for several years.
Cezanne Khan's early life
Born into a Muslim family in Mumbai, India, Cezanne's father was Ustad Rais Khan, a famous sitarist in Pakistan and his mother is an interior designer. His brother, is also a singer, composer and sitar player. Cezanne lived in Mumbai since the beginning. He completed his graduation in commerce and then pursued MBA from USA.
Cezanne Khan's early work and comeback in Television
Cezanne began modelling during his college years, encouraged by his friends. While pursuing MBA, he received an offer from Anurag Sinha for a TV serial, called Hasratein, which aired on Zee TV. Following this, he appeared with Neena Gupta in a show Pal Chhin, produced by Ekta Kapoor. His performance impressed Kapoor, who cast him as the lead in her next show Kasuatii Zindagi Kay. The actor portrayed Anurag Basu, Shweta Tiwari's husband and instantly became a household name. The show aired on Star Plus until 2008, after which it concluded.
After Kasuatii Zindagi Kay ended, Khan went back to Pakistan to his family. The actor struggled to find work in India. He later did Pakistani serials like Piya Ke Ghar Jana Hai and another serial Silsile Chahat Ke. He then went moved to America and established his business, but returned to Mumbai after several years. Following pandemic, the actor made his comeback in entertainment industry and returned to television in 2002 with Apnapan: Badalte Rishton Ka Bandhan
Apart from Kasauti..., Cezanne has starred in Dushman, Ek Ladki Anjaani Si and Seeta Aur Geeta in the past.
