Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): The Union Environment Ministry has set up State Environment Impact Assessment Authority (SEIAA) and State Expert Appraisal Committee (SEAC) committees. The ministry also issued notification for it on Wednesday.
A former IAS officer SN Singh Chouhan has been appointed chairman of SEIAA and Sunanda Singh Raghuwanshi its member.
Executive director of Environmental Planning and Coordination Organisation (EPCO) will be its member secretary. Retired IAS officer Rakesh Kumar Shrivastava has been appointed chairman of SEAC.
Vijay Kumar Ahirwar, Rakesh Kumar Pandey, Pallavi Bhatnagar, Sunita Singh, and Sushil Menderiya have been appointed members of the committee.
The member secretary of the MP Pollution Control Board has been given the responsibility of the member secretary of the committee. The state government sent the names for these committees to the Union Environment Ministry two months ago.
Now, its notification has been issued. As these committees were not set up, several projects were delayed in the absence of approval of SEIAA and SEAC.
