In the Pacific Palisades neighborhood, firefighters battled flames burning through dry brush. Some crews worked to protect homes, using hoses and helicopters to drop water. One firefighter jumped a fence near a house as flames approached. A woman stood outside her garage, hand on her head, as a firetruck sprayed water on a nearby home.

The fast-moving fire scorched over 200 acres, causing evacuations. One resident wept next to her car as flames burned nearby. Another person ran alongside a line of cars, smoke filling the sky.

The smoke reached the beaches, creating a hazy backdrop for surfers and beachgoers. Two people lay on the sand, a large plume of smoke behind them. Cyclists rode along the beach under the smoke-filled sky.

Meanwhile, many X users took to the social media to share videos of the wildfire.

Another person shared a video of two men fleeing their home at the last second.
