New Delhi: Ahead of the assembly elections, Gaurav Bhatia, a leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), made serious accusations against Arvind Kejriwal, the leader of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and former chief minister of Delhi. He claimed that Kejriwal’s friends, contractors and liquor merchants, had used approximately Rs 100 crores of “black money” to build “Sheesh Mahal.”

Speaking during a news conference, Bhatia used an affidavit to claim that Kejriwal had earlier pledged to live like a regular person and refuse any bungalow. In contrast to his prior pledge, Bhatia said that Kejriwal is now constructing a large home. He insisted that Kejriwal provide more details about this pledge.

“In this affidavit, Kejriwal says, ‘I won’t take a bungalow and will live like a common man.'” Bhatia claimed, displaying an affidavit purportedly signed by Arvind Kejriwal on his refusal to accept a home. Arvind Kejriwal Ghazni, should we not inquire, kya hua tera waada? (Whatever became of your pledge?) Regarding the pledge he made to the people, would he elaborate? He had said that he would not accept a large house; nonetheless, it is reported that ‘Sheesh Mahal’ has received an investment of Rs 50 crores, in addition to the Rs 100 crores in illicit money from contractors and associates of liquor traders.

According to the BJP spokesperson, the party would soon provide evidence and details about the purported “Sheesh Mahal scam.”

In addition, Bhatia referred to Kejriwal as the “biggest corrupt brother” of all the dishonest individuals who have put their “black money” into the “Sheesh Mahal.”

It has now been revealed that Arvind Kejriwal’s associates, who are liquor businesspeople, have put their money in the ‘Sheesh Mahal,’ despite the fact that it was previously believed that this Rs 50 crore fraud was only a paper one. This ‘Sheesh Mahal’ also involves the contractors for whom over-invoicing was done, according to the CAG report, and we will shortly provide evidence and facts to support this,” Bhatia said at a news conference.

“This ‘Sheesh Mahal’ is the beneficiary of the black money invested by all of these corrupt individuals, who see Arvind Kejriwal as their largest crooked brother. In this context, Delhi Minister Saurabh Bhardwaj and AAP MP Sanjay Singh were making “noises” (shor-shor-shor macha rahe the), so chor machaye shor. “Arvind Kejriwal does not appear before the media to respond to inquiries from the public,” he continued.

The BJP and AAP are intensifying their verbal sparring as Delhi prepares for its assembly elections on February 5.

Former Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal was criticized by Delhi BJP President Virendraa Sachdeva earlier, who said that his name is “synonymous with lies” since he “failed” to keep any of his promises.

Sachdeva made fun of the AAP national convenor by claiming that the only thing he had claimed that had come to pass was that he and other party members would be going to prison.

“I vowed to my kids that I would never take a government vehicle, bungalow, or security,” Arvind Kejriwal had said. Arvind Kejriwal needs to disclose whose promise was broken and whose life was lost. He said that despite promises made to women before the Punjab election that 1,000 rupees would be deposited to their accounts after the AAP took control, none of them ever got the money.

Regarding the ‘Sheesh Mahal’ controversy, the BJP has been particularly critical of the ruling Aam Aadmi Party and its national convenor, Arvind Kejriwal.

Additionally, the BJP displayed Sheeshmahal posters on the streets close to Flagstaff Road. Additionally, the Delhi BJP has built Sheesh Mahal replicas, which are being exhibited on trucks in each constituency.

Delhi’s elections are set to take place in one phase on February 5 and the vote count is slated for February 8.
The incumbent AAP is up against the BJP and the Congress in a fierce two-pronged contest. The AAP won the last two terms by overwhelming majorities, 67 and 62 out of 70 seats.
