A strong cold wave and heavy fog are presently engulfing Uttar Pradesh. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an orange alert for cold wave in 57 Uttar Pradesh districts, including: Prayagraj, Fatehpur, Pratapgarh, Sonbhadra, Banda, Chitrakoot, Kaushambi, Mirzapur, Chandauli, Varanasi, Sant Ravidas Nagar and Jaunpur, Ghazipur, Azamgarh, Mau, Ballia, Deoria, Gorakhpur, Sant Kabir Nagar, Basti, Kushinagar, Hardoi, Maharajganj, Siddharth Nagar, Gonda, Balrampur, Shravasti, Bahraich, Lakhimpur Kheri, Sitapur, Farrukhabad, Kanpur Nagar, Kannauj, Kanpur Dehat, Unnao, Lucknow, Barabanki, Ayodhya, Ambedkar Nagar, Mathura, Hathras, Rae Bareli, Amethi, Sultanpur, Kasganj, Etah, Agra, Firozabad, Mainpuri, Etawah, Auraiya, Bareilly, Pilibhit, Shahjahanpur, Badaun, Jalaun, Hamirpur and its surrounding areas.

In the morning, the lowest temperature in the capital city of Lucknow, as well as the districts of Bundelkhand, Purvanchal, and Prayagraj, fell below 10 degrees Celsius. UP Weather: Rain Alerts from IMD

IMD predicts fog will persist till January 9. In addition, rain is expected from January 10–12, according to the meteorological service. Additionally, chilly winds of up to 4 km/h are predicted to blow throughout this time.

Forecasters predict that between January 10 and 12, a fresh western disturbance will cause a shift in the weather. Delhi and other parts of North West India may see mild rain as a result. Rain will lessen fog, but it won’t significantly change the temperature, according to IMD.

IMD reports that on January 10, a yellow warning was issued for intense fog in several places in the eastern and western regions. On January 11, there is a chance of rain along with lightning and thunder in certain parts of western Uttar Pradesh.

-On Thursday, the temperature in Lucknow is predicted to be 7 degrees Celsius at night and maybe 17 degrees Celsius during the day. Tomorrow might be partly overcast here.

-On Thursday, Sangam city Prayagraj is predicted to see a nighttime temperature of 4 degrees Celsius and a daytime temperature of around 14 degrees Celsius. There may be cloud cover and high winds on Friday.

-On Thursday, the temperature in Varanasi is predicted to be 7 degrees Celsius at night and around 18 degrees Celsius during the day.
