The year 2025 has finally kicked off and with the new years first month already at its midpoint some of the biggest anticipated movies are on the verge of release. From Hrithik Roshans War 2 to Vivek Agnihotris political drama The Delhi Files a lineup of films is set to make 2025 a memorable year for cinema lovers. Fans are eagerly looking forward to the release of these movies. As we discuss the highly-anticipated movies of this year lets take a look at the list of films and the actors set to feature in them. On August 14 2025 Ayan Mukerjis directorial War 2 will hit the big screens. The movie is highly anticipated and will feature two powerhouses—Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR. However the film is set to clash with Vivek Agnihotris political drama The Delhi Files which is slated to hit theatres on August 15. Now if reports are to be believed two more movies are expected to be released in the same week. The first one is Sunny Deols Lahore 1947 and the second is Rajinikanths Coolie. An interesting aspect of both films is that Aamir Khan will make cameo appearances in them. Lahore 1947 is also produced by Khan under his banner Aamir Khan Productions. A source quoted by Bollywood Hungama said Lahore 1947 is a film that celebrates Indias Independence and what better date than August 15 to release it? They are strongly considering this date and will make an official announcement very soon. It will feature Aamir Khan in an extended cameo. The source further added The Rajinikanth-starrer Coolie is the most awaited film in Tamil cinema and the producers have locked the Independence Day release for their film. The makers want to replicate the success of Jailer which hit theatres ahead of Independence Day in 2023. Interestingly even Coolie features Aamir Khan in an extended cameo. While Lahore 1947 will be helmed by Rajkumar Santoshi and mark Preity Zintas comeback on the big screen Coolie is directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj and also features Nagarjuna Upendra Soubin Shahir Sathyaraj and Shruti Haasan. The entire Indian film industry is eagerly awaiting the official release date announcements for Lahore 1947 and Coolie.
