The Tata Groups legacy will be carried forward by the new generation of the family. Following the death of veteran industrialist Ratan Tata in October last year his half-brother Noel Tata assumed the reins and was appointed chairman of Tata Trusts.
Tata Trusts the philanthropic arm of the Tata Group includes the Sir Ratan Tata Trust and its allied trusts as well as the Sir Dorabji Tata Trust and its allied trusts. It holds a 66% stake in Tata Sons the promoter of Tata Group companies
Noel Tata’s children are now going to spearhead the companies and they have started sharing the onus of the giant conglomerate. Noel Tata’s daughters Leah and Maya Tata have been introduced on the board of trustees of the Sir Ratan Tata Industrial Institute (SRTII). Leah and Maya have replaced Arnaz Kotwal and Freddy Talati who have quit as board trustees of SRTII.
According to a report published in the Economic Times outgoing trustee Arnaz Kotwas was upset over the way he was asked to resign from the board to accommodate daughters of Noel Tata. The entire episode shows an internal rift among them.
Well the induction of Leah and Maya has been seen as a part of succession in the Tata Group.
Noel Tata’s three children Leah Neville and Maya Tata have started their assignment after their quiet entry into the $104.5 billion company the three have decided their domain as per their inclination and choice to lead.
