In July this year, private telecom companies like Jio, Airtel, and Vi increased their tariff prices by up to 25 percent. The result of this was that many customers joined the government telecom company BSNL. A major reason for this is that BSNL still offers prepaid plans at affordable prices and the company's 4G networks are also present in a large part of the country. If you also want to leave any of your old networks and port to BSNL, then we are going to tell you the way. Here we are going to tell you about the online method as well as the offline method.

How to port your number to BSNL

Porting a mobile number to BSNL is an easy process. First of all, users have to generate a Unique Porting Code (UPC) by sending a message to 1900 with the text 'PORT' followed by their existing mobile number.

This code is very important to start the porting process. Once they get these codes, users can either visit a nearby BSNL store or proceed with the process online. To process online, users need to visit the official website of BSNL, navigate to the 'MOBILE NUMBER PORTABILITY' section, and enter the UPC along with the required details. Once submitted, BSNL will process the request and users will be given updates about the switch.

Steps to port mobile number online to BSNL:

Visit the official website of BSNL.
Then go to the 'Mobile Number Portability' section.
Enter your existing mobile number and the generated Unique Porting Code (UPC).
Then enter the required personal and identification details.
Select your preferred BSNL plan (prepaid or postpaid).
Then submit the form and wait for confirmation from BSNL.
Enter the BSNL SIM card once the porting process is complete.

Know the offline method too.

Customers can visit any BSNL store with valid identity proof and Unique Porting Code (UPC). At the store, they will have to fill out the porting form, submit the required documents, and select a plan. After submitting the form, the porting process will start.
