Fitness quotient has increases with the millennials and GenZ. Ironical to the sedentary lifestyle that several people live with, health and fitness awareness has increased too. This is the journey of Pranjal Pandey who reduced a remarkable 80 kgs!

Documenting her journey, Pandey shares what she eats in a day, what “fitness truths” she has come to realise and more. In one of her posts, she talks about certain tips and tricks she understood in her long fitness journey. She captioned it,” These are 5 things I didn’t want to acknowledge that were hindering my progress!” (sic)

  1. Calorie is king: If you’re not losing weight ,you aren’t in a deficit. No matter what you say. A calorie deficit = weight loss.Plateaus are different story though.
  2. Rest is necessary: 7-8 hours of sleep daily. You tear your muscles in the gym and proper rest and nutrition makes them.If you don’t rest, the fatigue builds up until you get sick.
  3. Nutrition sources matter– 30g of protein supplements ≠ 30g of animal protein. If you’re only getting your nutrition from packaged foods instead of whole foods it will harm your body in the long run.
  4. Consistency: Motivation fades but discipline makes you do things that need to be done. Fitness is a long game and you will get results if you keep showing up
  5. It takes time: It took me nearly two years to finally see some muscle growth. You will have setbacks,not everything will go according to plan. Life happens but you should always get back on track.

One does not need to read again to understand how simple these fitness truths are. These are basic that we agree to however often miss out on paying the attention is requires. It is all about the right balance of things.
