'Pushpa 2' box office collection day 36: Allu Arjun and Rashmika Mandanna's action drama sees steady business in 5th week; beats 'Baby John' and 'Mufasa' with a heavy margin
When the first installment of ‘Pushpa’ came, the famous dialogue ‘Jhukega nahi’ resonated with the box office collection, and the second part followed the same path. ‘Pushpa 2’ broke the record of its predecessor in the initial days and the ‘fire nahi, wildfire hai’ dialogue from the movie best describes its box office journey of 5 weeks.
On its 5th Thursday, the movie collected around Rs.2 crore (early estimates), as per the Sacnilk report. With these numbers, the movie will hit the Rs. 25 crore mark net collection in India in the 5th week.
The film was released on December 5, has completed more than 30 days in the theatres, and yet has a grip over the box office. Towards the end of December, this Pan India movie was supposed to have big competition from Varun Dhawan starrer ‘Baby John’ and Disney’s animated adventure drama ‘Mufasa: The Lion King,’ but ‘Pushap 2’ was hardly affected by them. On Thursday, where ‘Pushpa 2’ made business in crores, ‘Baby John’ only made Rs.17 lakhs, while ‘Mufasa: The Lion King ‘ earned Rs 34 lakhs.

In the opening week, it made Rs 725.8 crore, followed by Rs 264.8 crore in its second week. Though the business did see a dip in the third and fourth weeks, the movie crossed the Rs 1200 crore mark.
