During this, President Neelam Sanjeeva Reddy asked Rekha a very interesting question, “Why do you apply sindoor in your hair parting?” This question was surprising because Rekha always had sindoor in her hair parting, and it is a part of her personality. Rekha replied to this by saying, “In the city I come from, applying sindoor in the hair parting is very common… it is a fashion there.”
Talking about Rekha's film career, she has done films like Nagin (1976), Muqaddar Ka Sikandar (1978), Mr. Natwarlal (1979), Khoobsurat (1980), Umrao Jaan (1981) and Khoon Bhari Maang (1988). I just wanted to get married and settle down." Rekha also admitted that she could never speak her heart openly.
